"Come on my little ones! We just have to make it over this pass and it will be down hill all the way to the valley!" I told my children, encouragingly.

"But Mommy, I am so tired and so hungry!" They all complained.

"I know, sweetlings. So am I. But we have to keep moving. It is very important we get out of the Lag Range and down into the valley. Let us just get over this crest and then we can rest a bit."

Although my children were tired, they valiantly struggled on. Even the hatchlings looked exhausted. Need and fear kept motivating us on.

We were thirty feet from the crest, when the ground started shaking and deep rumblings from underneath us sounded like the earth was in agony. Large boulders, small rocks and a landslide of dirt came tumbling down onto the path in front of us. Quickly, I grabbed my children and the hatchlings and we barely managed to escape harm from the falling rocks. Choaking from the dust, we watched aghast at the sight of path being buried under tons of rock and dirt.

Now how could we ever get out of these horrid mountains? The path was totally blocked. We couldn't go forward and we certainly couldn't go back. They were out there, somewhere behind us. To go back would mean death or enslavement for us.

Our Hatchlings:

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! ¤ Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! ¤ Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! ¤ Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! ¤ Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Our Eggs:

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! ¤ Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! ¤ Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Exhausted, I sat down on the ground and began to weep. My children, startled by the sight of their mother crying, huddled next to me and hugged me. And behind them, the hatchlings too tried to comfort me. All except our little stone hatchling, who was digging in the rocks and dirt of the landslide.
