Sep. 10th, 2012 04:50 pm'Vampire Diaries' anniversary: What's been your favorite twist?
by Mandi Bierly
Three years ago today, Sept. 10, 2009, The Vampire Diaries debuted on The CW. To celebrate, exec producer Julie Plec tweeted her favorite episodes (in order of airdate) Sunday night. Check out her picks here. She named 17 episodes, with season 3′s “The Reckoning” — when Klaus finally succeeds in forcing Stefan to turn off his humanity on Senior Prank Night — as possibly her all-time favorite.
Reading her list, filled with general epicness and top tissue moments (“Plan B,” “The Descent,” “Ghost World”), I was surprised that I reacted so strongly to Plec’s mention of season 2 episode “Klaus.” As Plec wrote, “[N]ever was an episode full of exposition so well-executed. And because the Sun and Moon Curse was fake.” I still remember how shocked I was when Elijah (Daniel Gillies) said that. Everything we thought we knew was wrong.
In honor of the show’s anniversary, name your favorite twist. The show has about 10 each episode, so there are plenty to choose from!

Dec. 27th, 2011 06:57 amThe Best TV Shows of 2011
14. The Vampire Diaries
Three seasons in, this CW hit has us as bloodthirsty as ever. The introduction of the villainous Klaus (Joseph Morgan) at the end of Season 2 opened so many new doors, providing both a worthy foil for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and an excuse to bring out Stefan's own dark side. Paul Wesley has come alive while tapping into his character's "ripper" nature, and the exploration of the Originals has added a sense of weight and anticipation to the story. Oh, and those Damon and Elena (Nina Dobrev) scenes? Swoon!

Aug. 24th, 2011 04:29 am'The Vampire Diaries': New promo photos tease David Gallagher's new, intense character
by Sandra Gonzalez
The countdown to the new season of The Vampire Diaries is on. Well, it’s been on. And as time ticks away, look for more and more teasy bits from the new season — like these new photos from the season premiere.
See the full set of new photos here.
When we pick up with The Vampire Diaries, the season starts two months after the events of the finale and finds Stefan on a “road show” with Klaus, during which they meet werewolf Ray Sutton (played by David Gallagher, who is set to appear in two episodes this season). And meanwhile, as we previously reported, Elena’s 18th birthday party is in full swing (red cups make the party!), but that is likely to go awry in some way. C’mon. That’s not a spoiler. This is TVD, not 7th Heaven.
Excited yet?!
