dreamy kiss

I’m waiting for him to pick me up – there’s a pretty steady rain outside, and we’re supposed to be going to a sporting event or something. He likes the teams and the sports; I like my music, movies and books, so it all works out.
I’m watching for him at the window of my apartment lobby, waiting for his sports car to pull into my apartment parking lot, but instead I see his truck. I do remember him saying the car’s tires don’t like the slick wet roads, so the truck makes sense to me.
He pulls up and parks right outside the window. He waves to me, but before I can open the door to run to the truck, he gets out instead, and opens a large umbrella.
I expect to see him hurry to the door, but he walks as if it’s a sunny day, and he’s just holding the umbrella. I admire his long legs encased in light blue denim. When he gets to the door, he opens it a little, and holds it with his booted foot. He closes the umbrella and shakes the water off outside.
“Hi,” I say. We’ve been together for a while now, but for some reason I still feel shy around him. Idly, I notice he’s wearing a black t-shirt, and a jacket like one of his characters would wear. It looks good on him.
“Hi,” he says back. “Ready to go?” he asks, gesturing with his head towards the door.
At my nod, he opens it for me, and we go through the doorway almost together, and he opens the umbrella between us.
He guides me to the passenger side, and opens the door for me. Before I can step up on the running board to get into the truck, he turns me towards him and brings his lips down to gently touch mine. I close my eyes so I can just feel his touch. At first, it’s a few little tender kisses, then he playfully nips at my lips with his and I feel his palm caress my cheek. My hands rest on the waistband of his jeans.
I feel him move into me, and his other arm goes around my waist, pulling me closer to him. He stops the playful kissing and deepens the kiss; our tongues touch for a moment, and then sensation shoots right into my own jeans. I’m pretty sure that’s me who lets out a small moan, but then he ends the kiss as we both seem to realize a the same moment that the umbrella has fallen to the ground and we’re getting wet.
His hand lingers on my cheek for a moment, and he smiles at me, making the crinkles at the corners of his eyes visible. His smile makes me smile, and I kiss a raindrop from his nose.
I feel the warmth from his hand on my back as I get into the truck, and the feeling shoots right through me again. I wonder how I’m going to get through the game.
After he closes my door, he picks up the umbrella, tosses it in the back of the truck, and then gets into the driver’s side and starts the engine. As we pull out of the lot, he glances over at me.
“You look a little wet there,” he says playfully
I run my fingers through my wet hair, attempting to comb it, and I grin at him.
“Just a little,” I say. And he just laughs.
