Wine and Winchesters - Season 3
Sep. 1st, 2007 06:36 pmThursday nights mean a few things to me -
It's Friday-eve, the weekend is only a day away
Supernatural is on
I'm usually having a glass of wine while I watch Supernatural
A few months ago I tried a red wine for the first time in a couple of years and enjoyed it. I decided that I wanted to expand not only my knowledge about wine but the kind of wine that I try. This was also right around the time that I discovered Supernatural.
So I thought, why not combine the two - with a twist.
Here's the deal -
Every week, based upon the TV guide description of the upcoming episode (and NOT spoilers), I'm going to find a new wine to try. For example, the first episode has to do with the seven deadly sins - did you know there is a red wine called Seven Deadly Sins? Neither did I but you get the idea.
On Friday (or sometime that weekend) I'll post a small review of the episode as well as information on the wine I tried (I'm not going to get techinical - I'm not an expert beyond "dry" "sweet" etc). No wine will be over $20 a bottle.
Now I know, to keep with the theme of the show beer would probably be a more approprate beverage - true, but while I like beer this offers a chance to be more creative (just today at Whole Paycheck (Foods) I saw a wine called "Ghost 031" - so there's a ton of possibilities).
I'm curious to know what you guys think?
