I just realized.. it seems there is a limit to how many hatchlings you can have..Would I be best off dropping/trading off one or two of my newer eggs or is there something I should know as a new player?

I totally hear ya when it comes to having too many eggs/hatchlings at one time. Normally I'd be very patient and let those babies grow/hatch. It may feel slow, but the time will go by fast and before you know it... The hatchlings grow and eggs hatch.

I know I don't like doing this, but sometimes I'll abandoned eggs I feel I don't need at the moment. As for hatchlings, once you give it a name, you cannot abandon them.

In all, it's all up to you. If you have to resort to abandoning, I'd abandon the eggs first. Otherwise, be patient and keep those babies growing and hatching. Good luck! :D

my concern was that seeing as i can not pick up anymore eggs or hatchlings (had my hands on both a paper hatchling with 3 days left and a gold abandoned today!) if they grow up so i lose them due to no room? Or is it one of those things that since i have them already there is room?

Whoa... Nice catch especially when getting paper and gold dragons are very difficult to catch. Anyways, once you have everything on your scroll and the eggs hatch when you already have more hatchlings, you won't lose them. At some point I'll have more than 4 hatchlings in my scroll and everyone stays put. You won't be able to get more when you reach the max, but unless you decide to abandon the eggs/hatchling, they are not going anywhere.

there have been a lot of gold eggs the past 2 days in the abandoned eggs.I have only seen one paper in the "mystery" eggs. Today alone, in about 30 pages of refreshing the abandoned page just because my kid loves to see the pages change, i came across 2 paper eggs (i cracked), 3 gold, and 2 paper hatchlings. I had one page that cracked me up (all whites and one off color).

I will catch one of the cool ones eventually.

Oh really? Dang! If only my hatchlings would grow up right now, I could've tried my luck w/ a gold. Tomorrow, I'm gonna set my gold baby up w/ my purple, and we'll see how things goes.

My next goal is a silver dragon. I may try my luck with cave catching them. If not, I have to get a hold of a dragon breeder. ^^

I have been seeing gold about every 30 refreshes today.. for about 30 minutes after I commented back to you, I decided to do the refresh the abandoned page with my son. We came across 2 golds, and 2 or 3 papers within about 30 minutes (took screenshots too!). If the silvers are the pale grey ones, i ran across one of those too. I did not run across anything cool in the mystery eggs after my last comment though :(
