Jasper roared an ear-searing roar. Although it hurt our ears to hear it, I knew that it was a call to other dragons. By the time the last note ended and our hearing began to return to normal, the earth began to shake like I have ever felt it shake before. Within a few minutes, the clearing filled with more earth dragons than I have seen in my entire life. Their voices filled my head with the cacophany of their voices.

Over this din, Jasper turned to me and said, "THESE ARE MY CHILDREN, MY GRANDCHILDREN, MY GRANDCHILDREN'S GRANDCHILDREN. WE WILL STOP THE GEORGISTS FROM ENTERING THE LAGS AND FROM RETURNING HOME TO THEIR HOVELS."

"But what of the other refugees like us who are trying to save their families and dragons?"

"WE WILL PROTECT THEM AND SHOW THEM THEIR PATH TO RAWN-DEVU."

"Thank you, Jasper. That is very good of you. Please be careful. The Georgists have a strange, new magic and I would be very sad if you were to be hurt or killed."

"REST ASSURED, LADY, WE WILL BE MOST CAREFUL. I WILL SEND SOME YOUNG ONES TO CONSULT WITH SOME THE MAGI AND PERHAPS THEY WILL BE WILLING TO HELP."

"Before you go, Jasper, how are we to get to Haven, with the path now impassable?"

Jasper chortled for a moment. "I HAD FORGOTTEN. GO THROUGH THE TUNNEL THERE AT THE BASE OF THE LANDSLIDE. IT WILL LEAD YOU TO MY HOME. ONCE YOU GET TO THE MAIN CHAMBER, YOU WILL SEE ANOTHER TUNNEL TO THE RIGHT. TAKE IT AND IT WILL TAKE YOU TO A WOODED AREA AT THE BASE OF THE MOUNTAIN. THIS WILL BE THE BEGINNING OF THE VALLEY.

BECAUSE YOU ARE HER, YOU MAY TAKE SOME OF MY GOLD TO HELP YOU PAY FOR THE SUPPLIES THAT YOU WILL NEED FOR YOUR JOURNEY. BUT ONLY SOME. DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY GENEROUSITY."

"I promise you, I will not. Thank you!"

"BE CAREFUL IN HAVEN. THEY ARE NOT GEORGISTS, BUT THEY ARE ALSO NOT FRIENDS OF DRAGONKIND. DO NOT TAKE THE HATCHLINGS AND EGGS INSIDE THEIR WALLS."

"Thank you. I will not." With that, I bowed to Jasper and got my children and hatchlings to do the same. We watched them march down the road to Lag Pass for a few minutes and then entered the tunnel.
