Why I Enjoy This Dragon Thing

I did something different when posting my dragons today. I thought I would give a closer look for my friends who maybe don't get the fun of it. This is my normal dragon post, but introducing each particular dragon. It's from my LJ. I thought I'd share with you guys too.



Those of you with Dragcave scrolls understand, but the rest of my friends list is probably wondering if I've gone mad. Well, I'd been there a while, but what I needed was a di-version, and I get a kick out of planning out lineages, trading eggs, and making cool like-minded friends.

Take my current dragons. Silly little pixels, yes, but each has a special place on my scroll.

My hatchlings:

Paper Canoe This was a gift from brightflashes, along with my blue dino egg, and both are destined to become part of my Cosmic Charley collection.

King of All Londinium Part of my Firefly lineage. This is the son of my Valentine dragon, Antera (who is not FF), and Watch How I Soar.


HolyRidiculousBlackDragonBatman This is a gift from Pesha for my Ridiculous Royal Black (pureblood black) lineage, which is part of the Dragcave Forum's Ridiculous Lineage Project. This was the first child of Pesha's black dragons, The Ridiculous Robin and The Ridiculous Batman. I'm rather pleased with how I was able to merge all three themes there.

The eggs:

Eventually this little guy will be Electric Blue (or some variation thereof).

Caveborn black, for my Ridiculous Royal Blacks

Caveborn pebble. If it's a girl *knocks wood *, I hope she'll be the Ridiculous Rumi to my Ridiculous Shams-e Tabrizi. I keep trying to get geodes, which are born from pebble & stone breedings. I want to start a Ridiculous Rumilicious lineage.

Bred vine, from my vines Ninmah and Gilgamesh Adara. I'm trying to get an alt vine (yellow flower instead of red).

That's this week's batch of amusement. The girls are excited about their dragon projects too, and both are joining in on the Ridiculous lineage. I also caught both girls a Dorkface, which is a coveted lineage from Ladiefare.

Eden & Ivy's


Ridiculous Birthday Mack. This was her first Ridiculous egg, a gift from ScribbleCraft, and was born on her birthday.

Ridiculous Fire Mack. A caveborn she caught to go with it. It worked out nicely, since one is a girl and one is a boy.

A silver egg, which was a gift for Eden from Kelverathewinged. Eden had been wanting a silver egg for a while. I believe she plans to make it Ridiculous.

A Dorkface for Ivy, from Elvenscythe. I believe Ivy wants it to be a Ridiculous Dorkface.


A Ridiculous silver egg from Ladymatch, for Ivy.


A Dorkface I caught. I intended to use it for my Ridiculous project, but the poor thing is just way too riddled with incest for me to want it. Eden's going to keep it though.

I actually got three geodes from a stone/stone breeding. Not sure what happened to the other two, but I've kept the one it let me have. It's part of my Agate (stone/stone) line which will eventually be bred into my Jade (pebble) line.

I'm also working on Vine, Magi and a few other breeding projects.

Very cool! So far my only stone female is stone cold and won't put out for anyone. >< I have no lady pebbles yet, but I'm hopeful. I will get a geode one day!

When I get more geodes you and my friend auburnimp are the first people I'll ask to claim them. I just bred my two stones and they produced a single stone egg. When my pebbles mature--I have two hatchlings--I'm hoping for one of them to be male so I can breed him to Serpentine Jade, my original pebble female and 'matriarch' of the Jade line.

Since my first geode gendered female I'm hoping the one I got through Dragonbrood will gender male. Then we'll see if we can get a geode/geode breeding to make us another geode egg or two.

I just don't want these guys frozen is the thing. I'd like to see the line spread and frozen hatchlings don't accomplish that.

Oh, I don't freeze. Doesn't seem quite fair, but I may end up changing my mind one day. Most likely not from any gifts!

I think the comm idea is a good one so of course I joined.

I decided to start my own lines because I don't like the names of a lot of the existing lines. I know they're popular, but the names of some of them are sort of, well, tacky. LOL

No frozen hatchlings from gifts is a plus! I actually had someone ask me for a geode just so they could freeze it. Umm, no. Too many people want them for breeding and I'd rather see that than have a rare dragon frozen to keep it 'cute'.
