The Adventure continues...
Mar. 19th, 2009 08:16 pmJasper's voice sounded tired. "WHAT IS IT NOW?" he said grumpily.
"I know that you are exhausted and need to rest up, but I have found where the Haveners are hiding the stolen hatchlings."
I knew that I had gotten his attention.
"ALL RIGHT. WHERE?"
"On the west side of Haven. I have found someone who knows where the entrance is. If you get here by morning, and bring a white dragon or two, we will take you there."
"I HOPE YOUR SOURCE IS RELIABLE."
"I think he is."

When morning dawned, we awoke to Jasper and a dozen of his offspring, two white dragons, and several relatives of Orlando. I hastily arose and started to make breakfast for my children and the hatchlings. I decided that the adult dragons could fend for themselves, if they hadn't already.
Once Donal and I awoke and ate breakfast, I called over the dragons. I brought out the map and had Donal talk about his experiences, where the guards were and what he thought would be the best approach. I could hear the dragons hashing out a plan of action. While that was going on, they were soon joined by several red dragons and several black dragons.
When it seemed that the dragons were happy with their plan, I asked Orlando if I could ride him again into battle. He shook his head and replied, "I AM SORRY, MY LADY, BUT BATTLE IS TOO RISKY A PLACE FOR YOU. DRAGONKIND WOULD BE BEREFT IF ANYTHING SHOULD HAPPEN TO YOU. YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE YOUR PART. YOU HAVE FOUND US THE INFORMATION THAT WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR. STAY HERE WITH WARD, SECURE IN THE KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE DONE PLENTY TO RESCUE OUR HATCHLINGS."
He and the rest of the dragons took off, going along a round about westerly route, so as not to tip off the Haveners of their approach.
Not knowing what else to do, I sat down and watch Donal play with my children and the hatchlings, while I sewed him some warmer clothing.
