Hi, newbie here, and I really mean newbie. Last night I got myself my first egg as I was just too curious about this whole egg thingy and I had seen loads of lovely dragons on personal LJs, so I thought I'd give it a try. trystan830 pointed me into the direction of this comm (thank you *huggles*) and well... here I am :)

I'd be very thankful for any hints or advice on how to make my egg happy. As I've read in the profile of this comm that a cut might be useful for eggs on their first day, I've put mine behind the cut. Got a very helpful hint by sazandra, thank you :))

Yes, it does make sense and I thought this might be the difference, but what exactly are the views and clicks for? I mean, if dragons can hatch without a single click... it's gotta have some purpose, right? And why are too many views not good for an egg? Sorry if that is explained somewhere in the forum's FAQs, but I haven't found it :(

Well, it seems to me (and these are just my opinions), but it seemed like my eggs would hatch faster when I got more clicks before the *first* server switch. After that, it seemed to take a week no matter what. Now we've switched hosts, so I don't know if any of that matters. Still, someone did a 'no click' experiment where they posted for views without allowing any clicks at all, and their eggs still hatched. So clicks don't seem to be necessary.

Too many views (maybe clicks too, who knows?) will give an egg softshell or make a hatchling sick. All you have to do is fog them for a while to hide them from view.

My pleasure! I personally post them as soon as I get them. (We can only do one post a day, but I'll edit my post with the codes right away). I don't post all over, though. Only here, dragonspam3 (which is still REALLY slow), and sometimes on my journal if I'm trying to hurry things up. I've only gotten softshell a couple of times, and people have pointed it out to me right away if I missed it. I'm not overly concerned about it, but then I'm a stay at home mom who can peek in on them all day, too. :)

During my studies I used to be at home quite a lot, but I've started work last Wednesday, so it probably wasn't exactly the best timing to now start hatching eggs *lol* but I like it... coming home and checking whether my little eggy is still fine :)

Well, I've posted my egg here two days ago, so I think I'm gonna repost it now, especially as my flist isn't that big and I would like to increase the clicks and views now.
