Several people have asked me to rerun earlier parts of my story, as they missed them. However, I have 19 Word pages of story so far, and that is much too much to post here.
I started this story on the first of March, during the time that the Lags started. It originally started as a bit of a joke, but then I started thinking up a storyline as to why a young woman, her children, her hatchlings and eggs would be journeying through a dangerous mountain range, which I called the Lag Range.
So the characters of my story, so far, are Lady Patra of Freedonia, a country in a mythical world that is not Earth. Freedonia was a country that loved, cared for and breed dragons. Unfortunately, there is a band of religious fanatics called "Georgists"
[I call them that because of the story of St. George and the Dragon, where St. George slew dragons.] This cult hates, fears and blames all bad things happening to them on dragons. Their charismatic, evil leader [as yet unnamed] is a powerful magician and has lead his people to invade Freedonia to bring their hate-filled religion to Freedonia, overthrow their government and kill all of their dragons. Unfortunately, the Freedonians were completely surprised by this invasion and unable to put togetner a strong enough army to protect their country. When it became apparent that they were losing the battle, the Queen of Freedonia issued orders for everyone, with their dragons to flee the country and go to the country and city of Rawn-Devu. There they would be safe and could assess what resources they had and what they could do to free their beloved country from the evil invaders.
Lady Patra is of the nobility of Freedonia and also second cousin to the Queen. She was the Dragon Ward of Freedonia, a hereditary and titular position in the heirarchy of the country. She also has special abilities, like being able to speak to any and all dragons and be able to make them do her bidding. Something she sort of knew before she fled Fredonia, but something that dragons are becoming aware of. Something referred to but not mentioned yet is that there are dragon prophesies about her. She was married very young to her husband [as yet unnamed] in a loveless, arranged marriage. She has five children from her husband. A girl, Celianne, age 9, twin girls, Melia and Melisant, aged 6, a boy, Reuel, aged 3, and a newborn son, Jayzon, born recently.
Other characters in the story are Donal, a young Freedonia who went on pilgrimage to Rawn-Devu, but was captured by slavers and sold to an apothecary in the town of Haven.
Patra purchased him from the apothecary and freed him from his slavery.
Orlando is an ancient Magi dragon, who has attached himself to Patra and has the ability to turn himself into a human.
Jasper Loadstone and his mate, Alabaster Hardstone, two Earth dragons who have helped Patra with the Georgists who were following her.
So far, our heroes have managed to travel through the South Lag Mountains, escape slavers, free hatchlings from the evil city of Haven and destroyed the town. They are currently trying to walk their way through the valley to the North Lag pass and into the next country.
