i've been meaning to post this for a while now, so here it is!

first, some background: i started the comm for DragonCave sprites, but then i joined UniCreatures...and the lag hit... so i opened up the comm to all adoptables. but now, the header i made - well, it looks like it's still for DragonCave sprites only.

i've seen some awesome artwork posted 'round LJ, and thought i could open the suggestion to the members of this comm - and beyond. this post is a public post, but comments are screened for fairness. Please put your submissions in the comments of this post.

here's my contest - design a banner for the community:

*800-900px in width; 250-350px in height. (sorry, i don't like the 500px deep headers. eww.)
*should convey "all adoptables welcome!" (try to use graphics only, please)
*could go with a "scroll" theme like DragonCave - i think that's a pretty cool idea too.
*color scheme should be able to go with colors for all seasons
*it should have the comm's name, "the Hatchery" or "the_hatchery @ lj", "the_hatchery @ livejournal", or something to that effect.
*winners get to see their banner at the top of the comm and credited in the userinfo
*the contest will close July 6th at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

you could simply resize the top one to make it so it fits inside the size suggestion - try 836x350, so it's the same width as your other one... and i changed the height maximum, too.
