Thanks for the update, I was just worried that it had something to do with my Mom's computer. This machine has nothing but problems, I can't wait to go back home to my computer!! XD
My Mom's computer is pretty old and I told her she probably needs more RAM added. I did what I could for the machine while I was there...as long as she can send e-mail online she is happy. That is the main way we keep in touch!
It depends on the direction you take. Yesterday we had to stop off at a near by town, Tappahannock for some parrot food my Mom had orderd. So, it took an hour for her to get me home. If she goes the back way it is about 45 minutes one way. We went and saw the new Harry Potter movie yesterday too...;)
cool about your mom's computer... keeping in touch is always good.
yeah, i'm a little over an hour from my inlaws, about 30 minutes from my parents.
ooh, Harry Potter. my mom asked me when we were going to see that (probably August), then my older daughter asked just about the same thing. i told her probably August, but i don't know... do you think a 12-year-old could handle it? she's seen all the other movies and read the books too....
Yeah, it is a fun way to keep in touch. Both her and I are not real big when it comes to chatting on the phone...
Space from parents can be a good thing. I feel I have just the right amount of space from my Mom. I am close enough that if she needs me to critter sit she can come and get me, but I am far enough away that I can live my own life!
As for Harry Potter, they kept the violence to a minimum...or at least I feel they did! I know there was more fighting in the book, especially towards the end when the Death Eaters sneak into Hogwarts! There is some blood, not a huge over done amount! The main part of the movie was watching the main characters fall in love, maturing, etc...there was some humor.
The movie theater was full of adults when my Mom and I went. I know when I was growing-up, my Mom never really hide anything from me or denied me being able to see something. She would talk to me about what I just saw or was getting ready to see! I grew-up around horses and often helped her breed them, so by the time they discussed the "bird and the bees" in school I was way ahead of everyone else when it came to the knowledge of how a baby came into the world!
As for the icon, someone on the DC Forums made it...but I can't remember who. I like to give credit where it is do if and when I am able. The Vampire Dragon is my favorite, I even have a custom made plush of the female Vamp. You can read about it here:

And also here:

Then I also designed my own scroll link that I use in the DC forums:

I am working on another Vampire Dragon drawing, but I just have not had the time to finish it...:\
i'm big on talking on the phone, but most of our converstations are short. heh. and yes, space is good! especially with my parents, who are more likely to keep pushing the kids to do all kinds of Jewish things (my parents are very Jewish, hubby's parent's are not very Catholic, and i'm pretty much an Eclectic Pagan UU. (but still in the closet as far as my family goes)). so yeah, space is VERY good.
well that's cool about Harry Potter, i'll mention it to my mom. and yeah, my older daughter knows about "the birds and the bees," and has already taken some OWL (Our Whole Lives) classes at our fellowship. :D
and SO you're the person who got the vamp dragon. hee. i love dragons, and i'm a sucker for vamps. so, uh... yeah. i'll go now. LOL. awesome scroll link, too!
I use to be a big chatter box one the phone, but the older I have gotten the less talkative I have become in away. My Mom use to rely on me way to much, so my space from her was needed! My boyfriend is a Presbyterian and I do go to church with him out of respect, but as far as religion goes Wicca peeks my interests!
Yep, I am the one who owns the Vampire Dragon plush. She hangs out with my Giratina Origin Form plush collection. Actually, she is now swamped by Giratinas, LOL!! I am going to redo my display when I get some spare time.
