i've done some tweaking to the settings so that now select members - which will be pretty much everyone anyway - can post. (Members can post only if a maintainer gives them access.)
i've done this because there is one person to seems to ignore the rules, does't seem to read the comm, or have their notifications turned on and therefore hasn't gotten any of my warnings.
simply put, if you're a member of the comm, you get posting rights - unless you don't heed the rules or warnings, and then after three warnings you no longer have posting access.
for the most part, the only time there will be some delay for new members joining to get that posting access will be when it's my overnight.
