I liked "Paper Moon Affair" for a lot of reasons, one of them being the director's ability to subtly reveal a shift in the characters' emotional lives. Here's Vern Staub being hit with a mental ton of bricks:
I gotta tell you, it's not my favorite Sebastian vehicle. Truly Sebastian has been in some embarressing stuff (Cerebes comes to mind) but PMA just seemed too slow to me. Still work is work and good that he got a job.
Thanks for posting. He is always nice to look at.
Often wondered if Sebastian himself, or anyone who knows him like an agent or manager ever joined this site and is a lurker.
At first, the pace of the movie bothered me a little, but then I thought about what the director was trying to do. Life moves so slowly in that little town, and nothing changes.
Once Keiko started interacting with the people there, it picked up a little bit. Vern and the young man with whom she had an affair started seeing life in a new way.
You know, I've wondered that, too. If so, I hope he's not embarrassed by the way we talk about him!
