I'm guessing Neal took the role thinking they would rewrite things for him as they had done in the past on NBC and Desperate Housewives. Somehow I think things just got mixed up and they would not cater to Neal's beliefs. Sad, but he needs to release a statement. It could hurt him if networks think he's difficult. We all know he's a good guy. Can't fault him for his morals. :) But it is Hollywood. :|
Yeah, I agree. After sleeping on this and giving it more thought, I think ABC duped him and they're putting the blame on him. I do recall Neal and even Marc Cherry saying that Neal was upfront with him about his policy in interviews. So I highly doubt Neal wouldn't be upfront with the producers of Scoundrels. His policy is no secret and since he worked with ABC last year, they should have known.
He does need to put out a statement. This wouldn't be the first time networks screwed with actors.
