Disclaimer: I don’t own Jared.
AN: I asked Caroline for a prompt and she told me to write about Jared being homesick and needing to be cheered up. Looked over by her and Sonia so thanks to those two! :)
Jared sat in his trailer, a slight frown on his face. Anna looked at him and placed her head on his shoulder, wrapping her arms around his middle.
“What’s wrong?” she asked quietly, tilting her head to look up at him.
He placed an arm around her shoulder and kissed the top of her head. “Just a little homesick is all.”
He had just recently gotten back to Vancouver to start season three of Supernatural after being back in Texas for about two months. Anna knew he loved Vancouver and was excited to be working on the show again, but he missed his family. She gave him a sad smile and sat up to kiss his cheek.
Just then there was a knock on the door signaling them that Jared was needed on set. He got up and the two shared a quick kiss.
“I’m gonna head back to the apartment, okay?” she said, a plan quickly forming in her mind.
“Alright. I’ll be by later tonight,” he replied. He leaned down and kissed her lips softly before leaving with a smile to get to set.
Anna smiled and pulled out her cell phone, making a very important phone call as she walked to her car.

Jared stepped out of the van that had just dropped off Jensen, saying goodnight to Meghan, the woman who drove the van. He took the elevator to his floor and leaned wearily against the wall. It had been a long day on set and all he wanted was to eat something, shower and get some sleep. The heavy weight of homesickness was pressing on him and he didn’t know why, but it was making him depressed and he didn’t like that feeling.
He walked into the apartment and the scent of a home cooked meal hit him. Furrowing his brows he walked further into the apartment and saw Anna in the kitchen dishing out food onto two plates.
“Anna?” he asked, leaning against the doorway and observing her careful movements.
She turned quickly in surprise and smiled widely upon seeing Jared there. “Hey Jared!” She left the food where it was and made her way over to him before wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him. “How was your day on set?”
“Good,” he said with a laugh. She was obviously excited about something. “What have you been up to?”
She smiled brightly at him and turned back to the counter, grabbing his hand and pulling him with her.
“I made a phone call to your mother today and she informed me what your favorite meal was. She gave me the recipe and I cooked it for you.”
His eyes were wide at the sight of all the food she made.
“I know it’s not a lot and it probably won’t be as good as your mom’s, but-”
Her nervous rambling was cut off when he turned her and kissed her.
“You made my favorite dinner just because I was homesick?” he asked, still in shock. Anna didn’t cook very often, but the fact that she took the time to do this for him made his heart swell with love. She nodded and he smiled widely once more. “You’re the best.”
They sat down to eat, Jared taking hold of her hand halfway through their meal as they discussed his day onset. When they finished eating Jared helped her clean everything up.
“So, are you still homesick?” she asked, turning to face him.
“No. You’re the best.”
He hugged her tightly and kissed her head, realizing that no matter what, as long as Anna was with him, he would always have a home here.
