I saw this on my LJ homepage the other day when I logged in: the details are listed out here (link thanks to

raynedanser): Hotmail and a few other mail services (Live/MSN, Cox, Juno, and Netzero) are blocking LJ's IP address, so you don't get the notifications in your email. several people have written to LJ, and, per SOP, they're "working on it."

so... here's a suggestion i've seen: use Yahoo, Gmail, AIM mail... and set it up to forward your email from your new Gmail (or wherever) to your Hotmail. some time ago, I actually just outright switched from yahoo to gmail just for my LJ and LJ-related mail. :D

hope that cuts down on the frustration until this whole LJ/Hotmail thing gets resolved... silly technology.....
