... need to vent?

it went down last week too - it's almost standard these days. there's a pretty green St. Patty's background, that only like three people can see....

and last time the Cave went down, people lost eggs and hatchies, even with the time that was put back on.

i'm trying to participate in the Adopt-a-Mint (or other greenies) day - i did get a frill for J and a mint for M. but i have until 5 to get mine - i'm still off-line at home. *sigh* i might miss this one too.

I would like to see my dragons today. I was hoping one would grow up and one would gender over night, and I'm peeved that I can't get on. I was going to adopt a mint if there weren't St. Patty's eggs, but I can't even do that. (I was going to breed anyway, though. I always find homes for mine, never drop them.)

My friend lost a paper hatchling--her first--a black egg and a pebble hatchling. I lost a frill last time. And I'll probably lose a stone hatchling and a couple of eggs that were supposed to hatch today. And yeah, I was hoping to pick up a mint today too.

And the DC has been down since 1am last night my local time.

argh that sucks!!!

i was able to get on for a little bit this morning, but it's been down consistently for 3-1/2 hours now.... *sigh*

hopefully it'll be back up soon!! (i believe TJ gets home around 3:15-3:30 eastern time, from what i recall....)

I personally think it's annoying. I mean, it's down A LOT. If it's not that it's laggy, and you can't even get on to catch...then there's not drop because of all the abandoned eggs that have to be cleared away first.

Quite honestly, I'm considering dropping out once my last three hatchlings mature. I don't want to, but it's not fun anymore. I had wanted to keep playing until I completed my list:

Gold
Alt Vine
Red Dino
Blue Dino
Geode
Spring Egg
Summer Egg

But now, I just don't even feel like doing that. The other thing that upsets me is that there are some fansites who, even though they are independent of DC, are really still under TJ's control. They are good sites, and I don't think it's fair to them, even though I know that without DC they wouldn't be around anyway.

So, yes, I'm venting, too. If I lose my black alt and my pebble I'm going to be way pissed.

it is!! last week, there was supposed to be RAM upgrade, and instead, it was network issues, and people lost sprites.

who knows why it's down again... it's crazy, is what it is. i like the sprites and so do my girls... but if you can't get views cause the site's down, you're right, it's not fun.

as for fansites, do you know what happened with The Hatching Dragons? that was a cool site, and then all of a sudden, the woman and her daughter have burned scrolls, there's a huge blog thing in the middle of her site, and it's completely different now.

I haven't been able to get on at all today. I considered getting up early and checking to see if there were holiday eggs. I'm glad I didn't.

It's getting to the point where I'm getting frustrated with the whole thing.

I'd scheduled my breeding so I would be hatching and egg free by the end of the week; so hopefully, I won't lose anything.

I have five hatchlings right now; including my first two Geodes. I'll be vexed if they die.

I've been spending more time at wajas.com lately. There are no ads. There's no trying desperately to grab a rare when it drops. You can influence what your critters look like when you breed them. Your critters don't die because the site went down. The site doesn't seem to lag as much.

I don't think I'll be leaving the cave; but I'll definitely be splitting my time.

there was no news post this morning so i'm figuring there aren't any... but i was trying the Adopt-a-Mint (or greenie eggs) - i got two (each of my girls got one), and then it went down when i was trying to get mine.

i'm not leaving the Cave either, but we're also all enjoying UniCreatures too. :)

Well here's hoping it is up and running later tonight (like 8:30 pm EST) with no lag since I'm to gift a green dino egg.

I was trying to breed last night when the site became laggy and as far as I could tell no luck with breeding.

I'm not too sure if this means a St. Patrick's dragon or if too many people were on hoping there would be one. I just can't wait for the winter's I have to breed a spring egg.

as far as i can tell, there's no St. Patty's Day dragon, but there is a new layout that might have killed the site. i haven't been able to get it to load since 9:45 this morning, but then again, people have said it was laggy last night - i don't have internet at home yet, so i wouldn't know.

i'm pretty sure i'm not getting a mint.

It became laggy right at about 2:45 am EST and then about 3:30 am EST it was very very slow to load. I did see an increase number of people on it so I'm pretty sure it was people checking to see if there was a new dragon or not. I'm almost sure there isn't going to be one since with the V-Day egg there were sightings of it before the announcement, but as far as I can tell there hasn't been one sighting at all.

i guess the question is has DST affected the time of the maintenance? it used to be 3 EST - is it 4 EDST?

that said, we've switched ISPs from Verizon to AT&T, so we have no internet at home. we should be getting the modem hopefully thursday or friday.... Yay!

Maintenance time still hasn't changed because I was caught in the middle of breeding when it happened. I thought I had a few more minutes left before maintenance but nope.

I do hope you get your internet up and running on Thursday instead of Friday, but anytime is good. =) Mine hasn't reset itself to an unsecured network in a little over a week so hopefully it sticks.

I haven't been able to get on all day.

I guess its a good thing I cleared our scrolls a little in case st pattys day dragons were coming. not as many little dragons in peril then.

still, the way the site has been lately? I do this with my kids, none of them into the double digits yet. we check their dragons after they're all ready to go to school, after they come home from school, after they've gotten ready for bed... its a treat for them for being good, but then lately its become so undependable that we might have to go somewhere else. I don't want to since we've each managed to build up a nice stable of dragons, but if things don't get better soon I'll have no choice. :(

This lag is bothering me as well. My friend just gifted me a geode egg the other night, and though it hatched safely, I really hope that it doesn't die a hatchling. It's my first geode egg as well.

The site's normally okay for me to get onto during the early early morning hours, like four or five in the morning (I'm in Eastern Time Zone), but even that has been slow sometimes.

Hopefully, something changes. I wanted to get another mint or two (love the Adopt-A-Mint idea, since I love the mint dragons =D ) for the holiday, but... Right now, I just really hope my hatchlings have enough views right now to get their wings and grow.

I was able to load my scroll and check out my drags when I first got up, about 40 mins ago. Then I went to check on the girls', and now I can't get anything. I thought for sure the little bugger was fixed. So many people are talking about leaving the site. I hope TJ finds a new provider ASAP. It sounds like his is super-sketchy.

i've seen people on the Forums and here talking about that. my girls love the dragons, and i don't think they'd want to leave. we also have unicreatures as well, so that helps fill a void.

i've read this too - sounds like the provider is feeding him a few lines of BS if you read the comments from the techie people at the forum. a working provider would be cool too. heh.

I did read through some of that yesterday. It seemed like two and a half days was an awfully long time for the site to be down. I hope TJ reads and realizes. It's a good site, so he really needs a good host if it's going to grow in popularity. I read people saying they're leaving in the forums *and* I think this is going to lose several of my friends who don't even do the forum.

i agree it's a long time to be down... and i really does hope TJ reads everything people have been saying.

i think the whole thing is crazy. me and the girls did adopt a green egg on St. Patty's Day, but i think if mine manages to grow up, i won't be as active on my scroll as i have been since i started in December. (even though i have plans for them). *sigh*
