'Twilight' is dripping with romance and vampire action

Finally, a chick flick with some bite to it.

Don't misunderstand: "Twilight" has swimming pools of big, goopy romance. It has mountains of swoons and skyscrapers of sighs and so many long, heartfelt looks it's hard to believe the characters' eyeballs don't freeze in place.

But it also has guys stopping moving cars with one hand, leaping across treetops, throwing 1,000-mile-an-hour fastballs and zooming up mountains like rocket ships. It has people torn to shreds.( Read more... )

I think we all know what the main problem is with the Twilight mania sweeping the English-speaking world right now: Ugly hair. Seriously, what the hell is up with the hair on heartthrob vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson)? The guy is undead, OK, but does his hair have to look like roadkill? Apparently, yes. Fame has bitten Robert Pattinson. Hard.

Not too long ago, the British actor, 22, was best known as Cedric Diggory, the Triwizard champ who suffered a tragic end in 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

For some reason, his impressive Quidditch skills never caused girls to riot in malls.

But that was before he became Twilight's Edward Cullen, the bed-headed James Dean of high school vampires and the main attraction of the film adaptation of the literary sensation that descends upon theaters at 12:01 a.m. Friday.( Read more... )

Twilight (2008)

If the droolingly awaited big-screen version of Twilight is any indication, sanpaku eyes are the new cheekbones. Marilyn Monroe and JFK both had sexy sanpakus (in which the white of the orb is strikingly visible below the iris), and so does Robert Pattinson, the young British heartthrob who plays Edward Cullen, Twilight's dreamy, sculpted hunk of a teenage vampire. With pasty skin, red lips, and those peepers that pop open wide with a touch of madness, Pattinson has a look so broodingly unearthly it's no wonder he doesn't sprout fangs. His creepy bedroom stare is a special effect all its own.

Here, as in Stephenie Meyer's 2005 novel, Edward is Romeo, Heathcliff, James Dean, and Brad Pitt all rolled into one: a scruffy-gorgeous bloodsucker pinup who is really an angelic protector.( Read more... )

i like mine 800, 825 or 850x275 or 300 actually.

but. i want to include everyone on here already (Nick, Angel, Spike, Mick, Josef and Henry), and i want to add Bill (True Blood) and Edward.

and - i don't want it to look totally cluttered, cause that's 8 pics.

so, i'm hoping there's some talented members in the comm who could pull something like this off! i've seen some awesome artwork around LJ, and thought i could open the suggestion to the members of this comm - and beyond. this post is a public post, but comments are screened for fairness. Please put your submissions in the comments of this post.

here's my contest - design a banner for the community:

*800-900px in width; 250-300px in height. (sorry, i don't like the 500px deep headers. eww.)
*should have at least the vamps listed above. if you can fit more in, more power to you.
*should go with the colors of the comm, i'm quite fond of them; but i'd like to be able to see who's IN the pics
*it should have the comm's name, "It's in the Blood" or "its_inthe_blood @ lj", "its_inthe_blood @ livejournal", or something to that effect.
