Actor v. Character?

fandomaniaok, so some buddies and i were chatting, and the question of who we wanted was raised: Jensen or "Dean"? which you can extend to Jared or "Sam"? Sebastian Spence or "Cade"? i mean, who is it that we really want?
my answer, after several lines of chat back and forth, is it's gotta be Dean. (Jensen would need some converting, besides. he's a cowboys fan, i'm an eagles fan; we're supposed to hate each other on general principle) NOT that i would have a problem with Jensen, really. guess that makes me a Dean-fangirl. NOT that there's anything wrong with that!

i wouldn't mind the character John Crichton either. Nick Knight would just be broody for me.
