Except for Sebastian's episode, the show didn't appeal to me very much. I'm never sure why women in many TV series have to work so hard to prove something, whether it's a relationship, work, or friendships with other women.
Shows with that kind of theme have been done before and done well. The old "Mary Tyler Moore Show," "The Golden Girls" and "I Love Lucy" were all much better than this show. Yes, I know these three shows were comedies, but I think the comparisons are valid.
"Emily Owens, M.D." showed a lot of promise in presenting strong women in interesting ways, but sadly, that show was canceled after one season. Of course, I bought the episode Sebastian was in!
