The Ackles Ass Equation

trystan830 asked me to post this here. And someone even made icons! ^^;;
This all started when
lokiie posted the featured picture of Jensen's ass/spinal column in her LJ, and so I told her I'd figure out the equation to the curve to Jensen's ass (and she didn't believe I'd actually do it, lol). I posted this to my LJ yesterday, and lots of people there wanted me to cross-post it here, so here we go. :) The text below is copy/pasted from my LJ:
* * *
I said yesterday that I would figure out the equation to Jensen Ackles' ass (hereby referred to as THE ACKLES ASS EQUATION), and now I've got it! I thought about explaining how I derived this equation, but figured not enough of you care to follow, so I won't waste anyone's time.

Above is a lovvvely picture of Jensen Ackles' BEAUTIFUL spinal column (GODDDDD I WANNA TAP THAT) with a grid super-imposed atop it and a red line marking the curve of his spinal column. *TOUCH*
SO HOT.
And here's the equation to create such a curve:
I typed that exactly as you would enter it into a graphing calculator (since I'm betting not many of you want to graph it by hand if you want to graph it at all). I'm using a TI-83 Plus, btw. Now go to your 'window' options and set Xmin to 1 and Xmax to 10 or 11 so that you can narrow down your domain and you don't get the infinite curves that come with a sine function, and make sure your Ymax is set to something higher than 10, and there ya have JENSEN ACKLES' ASS.

The right side is a little bit higher than the picture, but that's only because I had some issues transferring dimensions from the grid on the image to the graph on the calculator. But still. Not half bad, eh?

y=-(sin(x^(1.7/6)+4)+(1/x))+10

Date: 2007-04-01 05:45 am (UTC)Okay, this might sound strange, but The Impala's Trunk (http://www.kaz-2y5.com) is a kind of repository for random stuff the fandom produces that doesn't fall into normal categories . . . I was wondering if you'd be willing to either submit this to the site as an article, or let us host it?

Date: 2007-04-01 06:25 am (UTC)Yeah, our fanfic archive gets advertised more. The main site not so much because we don't have a heck of a lot in the way of content; we're trying to change that, lol.
Anyway, what do I need to do to submit it as an article? Do I need to join anything? And what would yall be doing if yall hosted it?
To keep out spam, we do require that people sign up in order to submit content to the site, but it's free and fairly quick and painless. On the left-hand side, there's a link that says "Submit News". You'd click on that, follow the instructions on the page, and submit it. I would then post it to the appropriate section. :) If I hosted it, I'd basically just be doing the same thing. With a link to you, of course. But this way, you'd get your name attached directly, as the author of it. :)
If you do decide to post it, let me know and I'll upload the graphics to our server. :)
